World of Maths had its beginnings in Australia in 1990 when Phil Way, a mathematics teacher for 13 years, began providing a “hands-on” problem solving approach to mathematical activities in schools. Problem solving is the fundamental and central activity in the learning and teaching of mathematics.
The program has been designed to cater for all abilities with 34 activities covering ages from 5 to 15 year olds. Each display has been carefully designed so that it :
| is suited to the age level of the students. | |
| is fun and enjoyable. | |
| can be related to practical and real-life situations. | |
| can be used by students of all ability levels. | |
| contains one or more mathematical concepts to be re-enforced. |
The activities or “ displays ” have been invented/designed and manufactured by World of Maths and therefore would not be found anywhere else in the world.
Now in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, England and Turkey
